Introducing Celluloid Circuits: A Podcast Exploring Tech in Film
I’m excited to introduce Celluloid Circuits, my new podcast that dives into the ways technology is portrayed in film. Each episode focuses on a single movie, taking a look at its themes, tech, and cultural impact—without getting lost in the weeds of filmmaking techniques. Since I am not a film maker nor do I pretend to be on.
The first episode, we’re tackling Johnny Mnemonic, a cult cyberpunk classic packed with predictions about the digital age, from data smuggling to corporate control of information. Future episodes will continue to explore how films imagine technology—sometimes accurately, most times wildly off-base, but always in ways that reveal something about our relationship with technology and innovation.
If you love movies, technology, or the ways fiction shapes our understanding of the future, Celluloid Circuits is for you.
Stay tuned for our launch, and follow along for updates!
An remember the future is only a reel away.
